Chiellini: “Racist incidents are unacceptable, but there must be an effort on everyone’s part. We need laws and rules that must be applied.” The captain of the national team, Giorgio Chiellini, spoke at a press conference on the eve of the match against Spain.
The defender returned to the episode of racist insults involving Napoli player Kalidou Koulibaly during the match in Florence: "As an Italian and a Tuscan, I was ashamed. In Europe, they talk about Italy as a racist country, we are giving a bad image of ourselves. To resolve things, however, there are people more suitable than me, we must apply the laws".
