Tuscany is a highly sought-after tourist destination, perfect for all types of vacations, all sharing the same enchanting natural setting. Every year, thousands of tourists from all over Italy and abroad plan a trip to these lands, exploring the region's main cities and ancient traditions.
Tuscany, like many other Italian regions, is equipped with many kilometers of coast and for this very reason it represents a particularly attractive tourist destination during the summer season. There are many tourists who organize a Sea Holiday in one of the structures located on the coast. To enjoy the beautiful Tuscan sea there are in fact different solutions. They range from the classic hotel or hotel, rather than structures like Pappasole, a Camping in Follonica where guests can spend their holidays in relaxation, completely disconnecting from daily commitments.
There are also many towns of varying sizes, as well as very well-known cities. An area of particular interest is for example the Maremma, an almost magical land for its panoramas and traditions.
Where is Maremma located?
Many people know this fascinating area that is between Tuscany and Lazio. It is a geographical region that extends over a territory of about 5.000 square kilometers and directly overlooks the Ligurian and Tyrrhenian Seas.
In its central area lies the very famous city of Grosseto, but its territory also includes places such as Mount Amiata, the Metalliferous Hills and the Ombrone Valley (which actually falls within the Maremma Grossetana).
What are the most recommended destinations?
Within the Maremma area there are many historical-cultural destinations mixed with countries surrounded by greenery and nature.
There are so many destinations in Maremma that are worth visiting, but which are the most interesting and famous?
Argentinian
One of the most important coastal locations is undoubtedly Argentario. It is located in a unique area, with a shape that makes this promontory resemble an island, albeit with all the amenities of the mainland.
The highest point of Monte Argentario reaches 635 metres and is called Punta Telegrafo. The territory is hilly with some rather steep stretches overlooking the sea. Along the various terraces there are vines and olive trees created over time.

Grosseto
Grosseto is a typical town with a strong historical connotation. It is the largest city in Maremma, and is fortified by imposing walls hexagonal in shape, 2.900 meters long. There are also guard houses, bastions and inside there are several religious and civil monuments.
Massa Marittima
This place is really particularly pleasant to visit because it is full of charm for its interesting architecture. An example is Piazza Garibaldi, where you can see the Palazzo del Podestà and the Palazzo del Priori. Obviously, the monumental construction of the Duomo in Gothic style is no less.
The streets of Massa Marittima wind among rather ancient buildings that suddenly overlook the Maremma countryside. It's an ideal place for visiting the various monuments, but also for beautiful walks.
Giglio Island
Located in the southern corner of the Tuscan Archipelago, Giglio Island boasts stunning seas and crystal-clear water. The entire island is surrounded by pristine nature, perfect for relaxation and vacation.
The mild climate in this area allows for pleasant holidays all year round, although to fully enjoy its emerald blue sea it's obviously best to opt for the summer season (avoiding the busiest months, however).
These are some of the places in Maremma that are most popular with national and international tourists. Many of these places are also indicated in various travel guides that give advice on the various points of interest in the region.
