Napoli. The third “booster” doses of the Covid vaccine are starting today in Naples also for the over 60s and for people over 18 with high fragility due to concomitant or pre-existing pathologies.
The ASL Napoli 1, in a note, explains that the administration of the third dose continues following the Circular of the Ministry of Health of October 8 and in line with the regional indications and specifies that the categories and age groups are updated.
For those aged 12 years or older, it is possible to receive the third dose, provided that they have received two doses, of which the second dose was administered at least 28 days ago, and that they are in one of the following conditions: solid organ transplant under immunosuppressive therapy; haematopoietic stem cell transplant (within 2 years of the transplant or under immunosuppressive therapy for chronic graft-versus-host disease); waiting for an organ transplant; therapies based on T cells expressing a Chimeric Antigen Receptor (CAR-T cells); oncological or onco-haematological pathology under treatment with immunosuppressive, myelosuppressive drugs or less than 6 months after the suspension of treatment; primary immunodeficiencies (e.g. DiGeorge syndrome, Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome, common variable immunodeficiency, etc.); immunodeficiencies secondary to pharmacological treatment (e.g. prolonged high-dose corticosteroid therapy, immunosuppressive drugs, biological drugs with significant impact on the functionality of the immune system, etc.); dialysis and severe chronic renal failure; previous splenectomy; acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS).
The existence of one of the conditions will be declared - by citizens - at the time of acceptance and self-certified during the anamnesis in the presence of the vaccinating doctor who will take note of it. The third booster is obviously also for people aged 80 and over, staff and guests of residential facilities for the elderly, health professionals and health workers who carry out their activities in health, social health and social assistance facilities.
In Naples, citizens will be able to go to all Vaccination Centers (Mostra d'Oltremare, Fagianera del Real Bosco di Capodimonte, Basic Health Districts, General Practitioners, Pharmacies) without a reservation.
