The Disciplinary Section of the CSM has removed from the judiciary Donato Ceglie, who as a prosecutor had been a symbol of the fight against eco-mafia in Campania and who was currently suspended from his duties and salary.
The most drastic sanction, against which he can appeal to the United Sections of the Supreme Court, was imposed on him for two of the conducts that were contested by the Attorney General of the Supreme Court: having received money from an entrepreneur and his brother in exchange for favors related to his role as a magistrate; and having obtained free use of an apartment owned by a technical consultant for meetings with women, also in this case by leveraging his role. Ceglie was a prosecutor in Santa Maria Capua Vetere and Bari.
