This morning, in fact, in the provinces of Caserta and Salerno, the Carabinieri of the Santa Maria Capua Vetere Company have executed an enforcement order of precautionary measures, issued by the GIP of the Court of Santa Maria Capua Vetere, at the request of the Public Prosecutor's Office, against 11 Guests (5 held in prison, 6 under house arrest).
The individuals subject to the precautionary order are held responsible, to varying degrees, for the unlawful possession and sale of narcotics. The precautionary measure is the result of a complex investigative effort, directed by the Prosecutor's Office and delegated to the Carabinieri. grazzanise, completed between October 2019 and January 2021, through wiretapping, acquisition of telephone records, observation, shadowing and control services, acquisition of buyers' statements, as well as verification services with the execution of home and personal searches.
The investigations allowed us to reconstruct numerous episodes of supply of narcotic substances, mainly cocaine and heroin, perpetrated in the area in front of the so-called "Grimaldi Palaces" in the municipality of Castel Volturno - a place usually frequented by drug addicts, even very young ones, and notoriously the scene of activities connected to the illicit drug trafficking - by non-EU individuals in favour of Italian buyers, who then resold it in the provinces of Caserta and Salerno.
And then to acquire serious evidence of guilt against the suspects who were the recipients of the precautionary order in relation to approximately 400 episodes of illicit transfer of narcotic substances. During the investigations, 4 arrests were carried out on suspicion of crime against the non-EU citizens, residing in Castel Volturno, suppliers of the drugs to today's suspects and in addition 7 pushers were arrested red-handed and approximately 145 grams of heroin and 24 grams of cocaine were seized.
