The report by the correspondent of Striscia la Notizia, Luca Abete, broadcast yesterday evening is causing reactions and debates on social media. The mayor, Ciro Buonajuto, expresses his indignation.
“I saw the report on 'Striscia la Notizia' and I felt disgusted, as a father and as a representative of the Institutions. What happened does not allow for any excuse and will not go unpunished” declares.
"It's shameful! We will immediately start disciplinary proceedings against the employee, and anyone involved, even considering dismissal. The behavior of an individual cannot throw mud on an entire community that for years has been fighting its battle against all forms of illegality and that focuses on culture and tourism to put a difficult past behind it."
"We all cannot allow the image of our Ercolano to be compromised in this way,” he concludes. “We are the city of the villas of the Golden Mile, of the suggestive charm of the archaeological park, of the naturalistic beauty of Vesuvius and of the technological excellence of the Mav. We are Ercolano.”
