"eudaimonia” is the title of the new album by Andrea Cubeddu, a Sardinian singer-songwriter born in 93 who, after his first two albums in English and in full blues & roots style, has undertaken a new path of musical and textual experimentation, in Italian.
“Eudaimonia” was born from his personal journey of searching for happiness. The term, which in ancient Greek literally means “good possession”, acquires with Aristotle the meaning of “happiness, well-being, bliss”.
The philosopher argued that happiness was the result of a constant dialogue between one's inner daimon, a sort of ante-litteram voice of conscience, and the surrounding reality. It is in the balance between internal and external, in the deep understanding of oneself and the space one occupies in the world, that one experiences happiness.
The songs of “Eudaimonia” are born from the hunger for knowledge and understanding of oneself and others. The lyrics deal with the constant dialogue that we internally move every day, between lucid reflections and stormy emotions, rational decisions and instinctive acts.
