“Dusan Vlahovic did not accept Fiorentina’s renewal proposal”.

The Viola club announced it this morning: a surprising piece of news, which arrived via an official statement from the president Rocco Commisso, which triggers what could become a real market auction to secure the Serbian jewel, whose contract expires in 2023.

In the note released by the club, Commisso speaks clearly: “I have always promised the fans that I would be honest with them, and I wanted to update them about Vlahovic's contract renewal – it is read -. We made a very important proposal to the player, improving it several times to meet both Dusan's requests and those of his entourage but, despite our efforts, it was not accepted and our efforts were not rewarded.

All we can do is acknowledge the player's will and identify, in the short term, feasible and adequate solutions to continue this season. Dusan, in any case, has a contract that ties him to Fiorentina for the next 21 months and we are sure that he will give his contribution to help the team achieve its goals with professionalism".

These will be interesting months to learn about the near future of the Serbian striker, who rejected Fiorentina's offer of 4 million euros per year plus bonuses, which would have made him the highest paid player in the club's history.

In pole position is the Juventus, who has been on the player's trail for some time: the black and white club is said to be ready to offer a salary of around 6 million euros. However, beware of possible offers: Commisso will try to cash in on the player's transfer as soon as possible, and it is not a given that his farewell could come as early as January.
