Napoli. In the presence of the Commander of the Carabinieri Forestale “Campania” region, Gen. B Ciro Lungo and a representation of officers and military personnel from the Carabinieri Forestale Groups of Campania, this morning Colonel Angelo Marciano said goodbye to the Carabinieri of the Carabinieri Forestale Group of Naples to take up the important role of Commander of the Carabinieri Department of the Vesuvius National Park.
Born in Torella dei Lombardi (AV), graduated in Agricultural Sciences at the Federico II University of Naples, married with a son, he joined the then State Forestry Corps in 1994. During his career he commanded the Territorial Coordination for the Environment of the Cilento and Vallo di Diano National Park, the Investigative Unit for Forest Fire Prevention (NIAB) at the General Inspectorate of the CFS and the Provincial Command of the CFS of Benevento, gaining extensive experience in the prevention and fight against environmental and forestry crimes and, more specifically, in the field of forest fire prevention and civil protection.
Since 2017 he has commanded the Carabinieri Forestale Group of Naples, a unit severely committed to combating waste-related crimes, coordinating significant activities in the so-called Land of Fires, with brilliant operational results, dozens of arrests and numerous seizures of companies and landfills. Also notable is his commitment to combating poaching, agri-food fraud and surveillance of the state nature reserves of Vivara, Astroni and the regional parks of Monti Lattari and Campi Flegrei.
He is succeeded by Lieutenant Colonel Nicola Clemente, a forty-eight-year-old from Salerno, married with a son, graduated in Law from the University of Salerno. In 2008 he held the position of commander of the Nautical Department and the Mounted Department of the then Regional Command of the CFS.
Subsequently, in 2010 he attended the 26th Advanced Training Course for the police force while in 2012 he was appointed Head of the CITES service for the Campania Region.
From 2014 to 2021 he held the position of Commander of the Environmental and Forestry Police Unit of Avellino with several commendations for having distinguished himself in delicate judicial police operations.
The sober ceremony was also attended by the Commander of the Carabinieri Legion "Campania" Gen.B. Antonio Jannece and the Provincial Commander of Naples Gen. B. Enrico Scandone, who wanted to bring the greetings and testimony of the Territorial Force for the excellent work done and the operational synergies in place against pollution and environmental crime.
General Lungo, in thanking Col Marciano for the action carried out at the command of the Carabinieri Forestali of Naples, highlighted his extraordinary human and professional qualities, wishing the best of luck to the new Commanders and thanking all the Carabinieri Forestali of Campania for the importance and delicacy of the functions carried out daily, to protect the natural and environmental resources of the splendid region.
