After the success of the Sorrento exhibition, “Drops of Water” comes to Sant'Anastasia, at Sanctuary of the Madonna dell'Arco, a place of worship dating back to the early 600s, characterised by the ancient pilgrimage rite of the so-called “Battenti” or “Fujenti”.

An important point of reference for the entire territory and beyond, the Sanctuary of the Madonna dell'Arco, 15 from October to 25, will host “Gocce d'Acqua”, an artistic installation dedicated to the valorization of water in all its forms, with particular attention to the protection and safeguarding of the precious water heritage of Campania.

The artistic installation, the result of an idea by Giuseppe Ottaiano, creative and owner of the historic Communication Agency “Sema”, is composed of over 200 works created by 56 artists and over 100 students from seven art institutes in the Campania region who used three-dimensional silhouettes depicting, precisely, drops of water, personalized by each author through the use of particular techniques, materials and colors.

The works thus created give life to a collective in which art becomes the visualization of an experience that tells the value of water as a unique element and good.

The installation path will go through the Museum of Ex-Voto , Chapter Hall of the Sanctuary. The Ex-Voto Museum offers the opportunity to numerous pilgrims and visitors to see and learn, through the gifts made to the Madonna, the centuries-old history of the cult of the Madonna dell'Arco. Therefore, the installation wants to merge with the cult and celebrate the sacredness of water that finds its protector in the Madonna. The Madonna who becomes the protector of water as both are generators of life.

The world of faith has always linked water to the Madonna in a double thread that refers to purification, healing, and miracles. The installation intends to link the Madonna to water by matching the creative power of the element and that of the Mother of all mothers.

The vernissage of the exhibition will be held Friday October 15, at 18,00 pm, while the press conference of presentation will be held Thursday 14, at 11,00 am, at the Council Chamber of the Municipality of Sant'Anastasia.

“Gocce d'Acqua” is part of a larger project, “Campania Beauty of Creation”, aimed at enhancing and spreading knowledge and the cultural, naturalistic and anthropological heritage of Campania. This project includes “Terra d'Acque”, a photographic volume that aims to highlight the Campanian water heritage, never adequately valued, indeed very often unwisely wasted, soiled, not protected.

“Gocce d'Acqua” and “Terra d'Acque” are projects aimed at education, protection, and the ability to safeguard what is most precious to us. But to safeguard, we need to know, and for this to be known, it must pass through information, dissemination, sharing, and even faith.

The initiative was strongly desired and financed by the Administration of the Municipality of Sant'Anastasia in the persons of the Mayor, Dr. Carmine Esposito, and the Councilor for Culture, Dr. Veria Giordano.

Equally strongly, the event was desired by the Dominican Community and by the Prior Father Gianpaolo Pagano of the Sanctuary of the Madonna dell'Arco who recognized the social value of the collective. Also important was the contribution given by "Spazio Vitale", an association of artists who actively participated in the organization of the installation.

The exhibition is organized in collaboration with GORI, a company that manages the integrated water service in 74 municipalities in Campania and also enjoys the moral patronage of the Campania Tourism Regional Agency.

Caivano – An arrest that brings to light one of the most dramatic pages in Neapolitan news. Yesterday, the Carabinieri snapped handcuffs on Ciro Migliore, a 27-year-old already known to law enforcement, during a drug raid in Caivano's green park. The man, identified as an alleged drug dealer, is the same young transgender man who was the boyfriend of Maria Paola Gaglione, the 16-year-old who died in the accident in September 2020. The tragedy, which shocked the entire community, was caused by the victim's brother, Michael Gaglione. As established in the trial, the man, opposing his sister's relationship, chased the couple on a motorcycle. During the chase, the scooter on which Maria Paola and Ciro Migliore were riding crashed, causing the young woman's death. Michele Gaglione was sentenced to 9 years and 6 months in prison for manslaughter. Yesterday's arrest by the police adds a dark piece to Migliore's story. The military raided his home, finding evidence of what appears to be a well-organized drug dealing ring: among the findings, 10 pre-packaged doses of cocaine and crack, packaging material and a "lmaster book" with initials and numbers, likely the accounts from the illegal sale. €1.675 in cash was also seized, presumably the proceeds of the illicit activity. The September 16th investigation is not the first drug dealing investigation involving Ciro Migliore after the death of his girlfriend; already in February 2021, he was targeted by law enforcement for similar crimes. The arrest closes a tragic cycle, where a family loss is intertwined with stories of deviance and illegality.

Editorial July 21, 2025 - 13:31 13:31

From a status symbol for the few to an icon of future mobility: in twenty years Tesla revolutionized the concept of electric car. Drive a Model 3 or a Model Y Today it doesn't just mean traveling with zero emissions, but also enjoying sports car performance, continuously updated software and the convenience of the Supercharger network.

However, the desire to get behind the wheel of a Tesla faces two significant obstacles: thehigh purchase cost, which starts from over 40.000 euros, and the rapid technological evolution which leads to a rapid devaluation of the vehicle.
