A unique online platform for the integrated management of urban mobility is the sign of the technological revolution in the metropolitan area of Naples: regulation of paid parking, authorization and management of permits to enter the ZTL are the main fields of application of the innovative path chosen by the Neapolitan administration to contribute decisively to solving the long-standing problem of traffic and parking in the capital through a program of smart mobility with an international flavour.
The "big brain" that allows the turning point is called Ines Cloud, Municipality, company of Engineering Group.
Some data on parking: the 25 thousand blue-striped spaces entrusted to the management of the municipal company ANM, Neapolitan Mobility Company Spa, have already guaranteed the municipal coffers in 2018 a 15% increase in revenue compared to the previous year, +40% in revenue from parking payments via mobile app (demonstrating how dematerialization is increasingly important) and recorded a +44% in assessments.
But how does Ines Cloud actually work? The digital payment made by the user is forwarded to the traffic wardens' handheld devices. As for the ZTLs, the platform performs access control, detects the position of the vehicles and directly verifies the entry authorizations.
Through an advanced software platform called Argon, citizens can check their position and settle their payments. Thanks to hardware and software technologies that integrate data and manage processes and services, the platform makes dialogue and collaboration with taxpayers possible, ensuring access to data in a faster and more functional way and making available on the territory, at the same time, virtual / physical counters and call centers to which they can turn for clarifications and information.
Municipality of Naples and Campania Region, therefore, renew their position at the forefront of digital innovation, which is also one of the main points of the recent National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) wanted by the Government with a total allocation of 49,2 billion euros which provides, precisely, the adoption of innovative technologies and digital skills aimed at strengthening the infrastructures of the Public Administration.
