Lightning causes fire: trains on Rome-Naples line stop

Trenitalia has informed with a note that rail circulation has been suspended since 1.50 this morning on the Rome-Naples line, via Formia (Fl7) in the section between Rome Casilina and Latina, and on the Rome-Nettuno line (Fl8) between Rome Casilina and Nettuno, due to damage caused by bad weather.

During the heavy storm, lightning caused a fire in a cable cabin near Torricola, with consequent damage to the train circulation systems. The technicians of Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (Gruppo Fs italiane) intervened during the night to check the conditions of the infrastructure and are working to restore safety conditions and reactivate circulation.

In progress - as reported by Dire - the reprogramming of the commercial offer with traffic diversion via Cassino and activation of a replacement bus service between the stations of Rome Termini and Latina and between Rome Termini and Nettuno. Smart caring services have been prepared and the Customer care service has been activated in the stations of Rome Termini, Campoleone, Nettuno, Aprilia and Latina.
