Bad weather: wall of women's prison in Pozzuoli collapses

Pozzuoli. The heavy downpour this afternoon caused part of the perimeter wall of the women's prison in Pozzuoli to collapse on the side of Via Pergolesi. The incessant rain caused the embankment inside the prison to swell, causing the boundary wall to collapse for about 10 metres.

It was necessary to cordon off the area and close to traffic via Pergolesi, the main artery connecting Pozzuoli Alta, Tangenziale exit, with the port. Teams from the Fire Department and the Municipal and Penitentiary Police intervened on site. The closure of via Pergolesi caused a traffic jam in the lower and upper parts of the city.

Vehicle traffic is diverted from the historic center to via Fasano and Arco Felice, while traffic coming from Naples is diverted to the Solfatara variant. Problems also in the historic center, with flooding in via Cosenza and in the area of ​​via Napoli. On the outskirts of Pozzuoli, traffic problems due to flooding of terraces and ground floors in via Campana, Montagna Spaccata and Cigliano area, in Arco Felice and Toiano, and in Licola.
