In consideration of the various critical issues that have occurred in the area following today's bad weather and having noted the exceeding of the rainfall thresholds, the mayor of Pozzuoli, Vincenzo Figliolia, in agreement with the Municipal Operations Center of Civil Protection, has established the transition to the operational phase of "attention" for hydrogeological risk.

A decision that also matured following the new warning of adverse weather conditions issued for tomorrow. The transition to the state of attention involves the activation of the operational civil protection garrison, constant monitoring of the territory and the activation of contacts with the Prefecture and the Campania Region.

The bad weather mainly affected the areas of Cigliano, Via Celle, Piazza Capomazza, Via Pergolesi, Via Fasano, Via Campana, Via Campi Flegrei, Via Solfatara, Via Carmine, Via Marconi, Largo Matteotti, Corso Umberto I, Via Napoli and Arco Felice.

Mayor Figliolia has also ordered the closure of schools of all levels throughout the city due to the adverse weather conditions forecast for tomorrow and also in consideration of what happened today, with several streets invaded by mud and debris and the closure of via Pergolesi due to the collapse of a part of the perimeter wall of the women's prison.

The cemetery and the city's public parks (Villa Avellino, Oasi di Monte Nuovo and the Urban Park of via Vecchia delle Vigne) will also remain closed.
