It's a security alert marcianise. An escalation of thefts has been occurring in the last few days in the area, especially in the outskirts of the city, and now residents are terrified. The city councilor Giuseppe Golino reported it, following the numerous reports received from the victims of the thefts, who complain about precarious security conditions.

“Security is not a purely private, family or personal matter but a common good whose enrichment enriches us all and whose impoverishment impoverishes us all – says Golino – For some days we have been seeing a dangerous increase in thefts in our properties located on the outskirts. This phenomenon is manifesting itself most in the localities of Airola and Santa Venere.

They are stealing everything: various objects, equipment, farm animals that are raised for self-consumption. However, when they steal iron caps that are usually used to cover artesian wells, then you understand that they are going too far! Discovering a well means putting the lives of others in danger through malicious and/or negligent causes”.

One of the latest thefts, in chronological order, was suffered by TP, a 27-year-old from Marcianise, who saw his agricultural land violated, located in via Italo Calvino (Airola). Right in the vicinity of the sewage treatment plants, where a new Roma camp now stands, discovered and reported in recent days by councilor Golino to the relevant authorities.

On Tuesday, unknown individuals destroyed the fence of the 27-year-old's agricultural land and, once inside, stole 4 irrigation pipes with their fittings, 6 rabbits and 10 chickens, causing a total damage of 600 euros. But that's not all. Because - according to what emerges from the complaint filed by the young man at the local police station - since the nomads settled in that area, there have been several thefts of both animals and agricultural material.

And the biggest worry is that his grandfather – who goes to the land every day to look after the animals and the crops – could find himself 'face to face' with criminals.

In short, the situation is truly delicate and it is clear that "today more than ever we need collective and collaborative actions", underlines Giuseppe Golino who then launches an appeal: "Report, do not be afraid to do so. Report even the theft of an apparently insignificant thing. For my part, as a supervisory and control body, I will continue my pneumatic and suffocating action against those responsible".
