Sarno. The finance police of the provincial command of Salerno have discovered, in Sarno, a large cannabis plantation, hidden inside a greenhouse. The illegal cultivation was identified in recent days by the Green Berets of the Scafati Company during a territorial control service.
In fact, given the particular incidence of the phenomenon in the Agro nocerino-sarnese, while combing through some land, the soldiers had become suspicious of the acrid smell coming from a tent. They found inside, numerous marijuana plants, already in an advanced state of maturation and with notable inflorescences, for about 45 kilos of substance, stolen from what was otherwise destined to be a very "fruitful" trade.
The person responsible, originally from San Marzano Sul Sarno, was subsequently searched at his home, which revealed the possession of two hunting rifles - with attached cartridges - which, being subject by law to specific authorization requirements, were therefore seized.
Reported at large, the 66-year-old will now have to answer for the crimes of "cultivation of narcotic substances" and "illegal possession of weapons", crimes punishable by up to 4 years in prison and up to 12 months in prison, respectively.
