At the MAV in Ercolano a Sunday of free health prevention

Herculaneum. For the national day “Families at the Museum”, Sunday 10 October from 9,30:13 am to XNUMX pm, the MAV, the Virtual Archaeological Museum of Ercolano, promotes a series of health services in the museum spaces. A useful service for the health of visitors. The initiative is organized in synergy with the Military Corps of the Order of Malta, with its voluntary component of the territory.

“The MAV once again opens up to the city and the inhabitants of the Vesuvian area. – Luigi Vicinanza, President of the MAV of Ercolano, stated with satisfaction – A Sunday to enjoy the museum together with your family and to enjoy extraordinary and free medical care. Yes, because culture heals. Both the mind and the body. A special thanks to the Order of Malta Italy, to the doctors, to the health workers, to the volunteers without whose commitment it would not be possible to carry out next Sunday. Thanks to the Municipality of Ercolano for the usual collaboration”.

Specifically, the healthcare personnel, working for the “Campania” Territorial Unit, will provide the following services free of charge: specialist audiological visits, ENT objective examination, threshold tonal audiometric evaluation, blood sugar control, saturation, pressure and finally the disobstruction maneuvers.

Given the museum context of the event, the occasion will also be propitious for visitors to learn about the history of the Military Corps by visiting a stand where some relics from the Historical Museum of the Command of Rome will be exhibited.

The Military Corps of the Order of Malta Italy is a Special Auxiliary Corps of the Italian Army, founded in 1877. It supports the healthcare assets of the Armed Forces with volunteer personnel, specifically called into service, and, at the same time, as an organization belonging to the great family of the Order of Malta, it carries out numerous activities of social-welfare and humanitarian nature.

A specific collaboration on the territory that enriches, in the wake of the great culture of our Region, what is the mission of the MAV, the Virtual Archaeological Museum of Herculaneum which, a few hundred meters from the archaeological excavations of ancient Herculaneum, represents a center of culture and technology applied to Cultural Heritage and communication among the most cutting-edge in Italy, thanks to the technological magic of the latest version MAV 5.0 - Virtual multiReality, the most advanced ever which, since October 2019, has radically revolutionized the way of living the cognitive experience of the virtual journey into the life and splendor of the main archaeological areas of Pompeii, Herculaneum, Baia, Stabia and Capri, to better understand their past and beauty in a journey preparatory to visiting the open-air archaeological sites of the Vesuvian territory.

Please note that, according to the law, entry to the Museum will be permitted only to those in possession of a Green Pass and to minors under 12 years of age.

The use of the MAV museum, thanks always to the initiative “The MAV exclusively for you”, through a dedicated reservation, can always take place exclusively for organized groups of up to 20 people, at a special entrance fee, not only on the opening days of Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, but also on the closing days of Monday and Tuesday, with the only recommendation to stagger the visits every hour.

The area open to the public will be the museum route and the room for viewing the 3D film on the eruption of Vesuvius.

A day among Roman streets, frescoed houses, and unique artifacts, without paying an admission fee. On Sunday, February 1st, the Herculaneum Archaeological Park is participating in "domenicalmuseo," the Ministry of Culture's initiative that opens state museums and archaeological parks to the public free of charge every first Sunday of the month.
