But it is very important to always remind everyone that without research we go nowhere, even in this sector. Therefore, combining healthcare capacity and clinical capacity with research capacity are strong elements to give our young people the tools to move forward”.

So at the Dire la agency Minister of the University and Research, Maria Christina Mass, who spoke at the opening ceremony of the 75th anniversary Siaarti National Congress, on stage in Rome until Saturday.
The minister then underlined the importance of a generational change, defining it “one of the strongest points on which we must try to invest in all sectors, particularly in the healthcare world and in the university world” and then added that “Today we must try to lay the foundations so that young people who study, who leave the world of education, have every opportunity to apply what they have given so much for during their lives in a fair and correct way and we must leave them a better world than the one we found”.

Messa finally focused on the effects that the Covid-19 pandemic has had on the sectors of her competence and stated that “the world of University and Research is in great turmoil at the moment because it perceives a change of pace, due to two reasons: on the one hand the funding of the Pnrr, which is conspicuous as regards research, we have just made a guideline to put out to tender the first four upcoming funding for an amount of 6 billion, so 6 billion that we have put into 60 projects means a huge planning that involves all universities and research institutions. On the other hand, the turmoil is due to the fact that we realize that some anachronisms, little by little, must be eliminated“.

Messa has specified that “Yesterday the Chamber of Deputies unanimously voted on the decree that eliminates the ban on enrolling in two degree courses at the same time or in specialization schools and doctorates, we have the decree for qualifying degrees underway and we are discussing a decree for the pre-role, that is, the path that young people must follow to then fill researcher positions in research institutions and universities”, he concluded.
