Armando Zamparini, the 23-year-old son of former Palermo football club owner Maurizio Zamparini and his partner Laura Giordani, died in London under circumstances yet to be determined.

Armando Zamparini was in England for study reasons and yesterday morning he was found lifeless in his hotel room. His parents are traveling to England to join their son. Armando is the last born in the Zamparini household, the only child from his second marriage.

During Zamparini's management of the Palermo football team, it often happened that Armandino, as he was called in the city, would hang out on the pitch playing with the pink and black players at the end of training.

With a note published on the club's official website, the Palermo football team expresses its condolences for the death of Armando Zamparini, son of the former patron of the Rosanero. “President Dario Mirri and the entire Palermo FC family – it is read – are united in the terrible pain for the premature death of Armando, son of the former president of the pink club Maurizio Zamparini. The memory of Armandino is and will remain vivid in the collaborators of Palermo who knew him and saw him grow during the period of Zamparini's presidency in Viale del Fante. To the parents and family of Armando, our most heartfelt condolences”.
