Napoli. Where once there was the private zoo of the boss Raffaele Brancaccio there is now a soccer field for the children of the Arenaccia neighborhood in Naples. The field was built in the confiscated property entrusted and managed by the Foundation 'A Voce d'e' Creature' of Don Luigi Merola. The inauguration was also attended by the archbishop of Naples, Monsignor Domenico Battaglia.

The intervention, which cost 25 thousand euros, was possible thanks to the support of Unicredit through the funds raised with the 'Carta E' project, the Adler Group and other benefactors. "Our children need positive models - said Don Merola - because we must always remember that a child is always born healthy and innocent, it is society that blames them.

This is an important work for the entire neighborhood where unfortunately degradation reigns and where there is a total lack of public infrastructure for children. It is an oasis in the desert”. In addition to the families of the children who are followed by the Foundation, representatives of the police and the judiciary participated in the inauguration.

"There's a lot of talk about anti-mafia and the use of confiscated assets," said Bruno Corda, director of the National Agency for the Administration and Destination of Assets Seized and Confiscated from Crime. "Everyone has their own idea as if it were a simple matter when in fact it is an extremely slippery matter. This is not real estate management, we are talking about assets that have been taken from criminals, giving them the worst slap in the face: taking away their house and giving it a social use."

Also in the room was the vice president of the Campania Region, Fulvio Bonavitacola, who confirmed the Region's support for the Foundation "because - he underlined - it doesn't happen often that we can become active for a beautiful and good cause and when there is this opportunity we feel privileged. We will always be on the side of those who are committed, of those who help the weak and of those who build hope for future generations". Also in the room, among others, were Giovanni Russo, deputy prosecutor of the National Anti-Mafia Directorate, Leandro Sansone, head of Territorial Development Sud in Unicredit, Paolo Scudieri, president of the Adler Pelzer Group. The actress Serena Autieri was the godmother of the event.
