Napoli, traders of San Biagio dei Librai held hostage by the violence of two squatters. Jeweler attacked ends up in hospital, bathing his dog with bleach. Borrelli (Europa Verde) and Simioli: "Unacceptable situation, the police must intervene immediately to restore order and legality". The victim: "We are tired of these abuses. We report and want a response from the State"

“The merchants of San Biagio dei Librai have long been held hostage by the violence of two squatters who call the shots. They decide who can exhibit and who can't, who can carry out their business peacefully and who must submit to blackmail and bullying. A situation that emerged thanks to the courage of one of them who found the strength to report after yet another attack and after his dog was given a bath in bleach.

It seems that the individuals in question are the same ones who last June broke the guitar of a black street artist after threatening him badly. Because they also decide who can play and who cannot. We ask for an immediate verification by the Municipal Police to clarify if the two individuals in question have the titles to occupy the public land in San Biagio dei Librai, right next to Palazzo Carafa, and what type of objects they sell since the concessions should be issued only for crafts.

We ask that the Police and the judiciary close the investigations into this episode as soon as possible. Those who have the courage to report must be given strong and immediate answers by the State”.

This is the comment of the regional councilor of Europa Verde, Francesco Emilio Borrelli, and the radio host Gianni Simioli, who received the appeal of the attacked trader.

“I decided to report it because we can't take it anymore – said Diego Palumbo the jeweler attacked by the two street vendors. In the last year they have attacked my father, 78 years old, twice. Now they have attacked me by throwing bleach in my face. I will be out for at least a week and will have to undergo further checks.

But what really made me indignant is the violence used against my dog who was bathed in bleach. I will also report them to Animal Protection in addition to the complaint filed at the Police Headquarters. We are hostages of these two individuals, of their Camorra-like attitudes. The time to hide is over. Enough is enough.

We expect to work with serenity because, unlike them, we have a commercial business to run by regularly paying all taxes. I would like to know what title they exercise instead. Now that we have reported we expect protection from those who have the task of defending the good people of this city”.
