Naples. Another fire of waste and brushwood in Ponticelli.
The flames have been developing since this morning in the seized construction site on Via Carlo Miranda where Francesco Paolillo died, the unfortunate 14-year-old boy who lost his life in 2005 falling from a building under construction to save a friend.
That construction site has been seized for years and despite the various requests for cleanup by the residents of the Ponticelli buildings, it is still an open-air landfill. Today, yet another fire broke out. The firefighters were on site. Many citizens locked themselves in their homes because of the nauseating stench and the cloud of black smoke that developed in the air.
