The new mayor of Naples said it Gaetano Manfredi during his press conference of thanks. “It represents a huge responsibility for us, there is great joy. Our commitment, put into play, with force with respect to our program. Some thought I was not suitable because I have too serious a profile, but Naples is a serious city even if with a popular soul, made of creativity. But the bureaucratic backbone of the State of our country is made by Neapolitans. We have a great challenge ahead of us. We inherit a city in difficulty, with a large debt and a broken administrative structure”.
In his first press conference as winner he was accompanied by the big names of the M5S in Campania, Luigi Di Maio and Roberto Fico, with the leader Giuseppe Conte expected to celebrate in the square; representing the Democratic Party, which emerged from the polls as the first party of the Neapolitan coalition, the national vice-secretary Joseph Provenzano and above all the governor Vincenzo De Luca, a convinced supporter of the former Minister of Universities' entry into the field
Manfredi insists: "The results have gone beyond all expectations. We will collaborate with the Region, with the parliament and with the government. We will work seriously without telling fairy tales".
