A sinkhole opened up in the late afternoon on Via Cinthia, in the western area of Naples, near the Azzurro Shopping Centre and the Fuorigrotta ring road exit.
The lack of sealing of the manholes, under the persistent rain that fell throughout the afternoon, created a real river of water, which created difficulties for motorists. Vast flooding was also reported in Agnano, still in the western area of the city.
Difficult moments in the Flegra area, between Pozzuoli, Monterusciello, Arco Felice. Here too, water and mud on the road have blocked dozens of motorists.
The heavy rain that hit the entire Phlegraean area created significant inconvenience and problems for traffic. The most critical situations occurred in Monte di Procida where the mayor, Giuseppe Pugliese, took to the streets at first light to deal with the disruptions that had occurred in the roads and the landslides in the hilly areas, together with the traffic police and Civil Protection teams.

Naples, heart transplant in two-year-old boy: organ transport box seized
