“The council will meet this week. There are no problems”, assured the mayor of Naples Gaetano Manfredi on the sidelines of the proclamation ceremony in the Neapolitan court.
Manfredi has made it known that the former police chief of Naples will certainly be in the government team Antonio De Iesu ed Edoardo Cosenza, former councilor in the Campania Region.
No certainty about the other names: “the definition of the council – he told reporters – will happen in the next few hours”. “The first top figures? I am evaluating them, the issue is that unfortunately I cannot make appointments right away, the consolidated budget has not been approved. In order to make appointments we need to wait for the installation of the City Council and the approval of the budget. This will clearly create organizational problems for us right away”.
Manfredi and the Pact for Naples
“I'm talking about it with the government, it requires an extraordinary commitment to the city, it's clear. BIt must be said that there is also a theme: the city's ability to present projects that are competitive with the Pnrr calls - adds the former rector -. We are late on this, we have the problem of a completely disastrous municipal machine. It is a question of putting in place an extraordinary effort, the city cannot miss this opportunity".
ANTIFASCIST MAJORITY
"Ours is an anti-fascist majority, if a fascist has infiltrated he cannot stay with us", declares Gaetano Manfredi on the case of Vincenzo Sollazzo, municipal councilor elected on his lists, who published on social media posts of appreciation towards Benito Mussolini and fascism. "Surely – said Manfredi – will not be able to be part of our majority"system. (
Naples late in project presentation
"We are behind in our ability to present projects that are competitive with the Pnrr calls for proposals, we have the problem of a completely disastrous municipal machine”.
"It's about putting in an extraordinary effort because the city cannot miss this opportunity. I'm talking about it with the Government, it's clear that an extraordinary commitment is needed on the city“, added the former rector.
