Garden of Atella. Domenico Damiano, candidate for the next administrative elections in the municipality of Orta di Atella, withdraws his candidacy for mayor. The well-known entrepreneur has given up running for this electoral round, after the intimidating acts suffered at his home located in Via San Salvatore.
The commissioners had already reported a critical situation, with harsh statements towards the entire Ortese community, contested by Don Gaudino, who had reiterated the need not to tar everyone with the same brush.
“Unfortunately, the anti-State through abuse and violence still tries to control Politics,” declared Damiano, who specified: “with Rinascita Ortese and the civic lists Giovani Menti and Insieme per Orta di Atella, we were carrying forward a program to give a decisive turning point to our city.
We have created a group of people who represent the best of our community, professionals who intended to make a practical contribution to the rebirth of Ortese, but the acts of intimidation against me right before my candidacy demonstrate once again the cumbersome presence of organized crime in our territory.”
