La Rome officially announced the renewal of its captain Lorenzo Pellegrini, until 2026. The player's contract, in fact, was due to expire in 2022. The former Sassuolo player, who has been with the Giallorossi since the summer of 2017, will earn 4 million euros per year, as confirmed by market expert Nicolò Schira. The 30 million euro clause that other clubs could exercise if they were interested in the player has also been removed.
So far he has made 161 appearances and scored 25 goals. “We started working on his renewal from the day I arrived here,” said general manager of the sports area Tiago Pinto. “Lorenzo is a pillar of this Roma, he grew up in our youth sector and he perfectly embodies the characteristics of our project.”
Pellegrini himself is also happy: "I'm really proud, I couldn't feel a greater emotion than this. I've always wanted to tie myself to the team of my city. I hope to repay the trust of the club on the field, our goal is to continue to always improve to win".
