San Giorgio a Cremano. Environment and mobility. The administration is implementing a series of actions in favor of sustainability and the improvement of environmental conditions in the urban area. In fact, Mayor Giorgio Zinno has been working on a double objective for some time: the reduction of pollution and the fight against climate change, through the reduction of CO2 emissions.

The first of the actions implemented concerns the signing of a memorandum of understanding with Enel X Mobility for the installation of 4 charging stations for electric vehicles and a high-power charging station for a total of 5 locations in the area. The charging stations will be located in: via Bachelet; via Galdieri, before the taxi rank; in the via Marconi-via Cappiello parking area; via Botteghelle, on the corner with Corso Umberto I; while the high-power station, which will allow for fast charging, will be located in via Gianturco.

The second concerns the approval of a directive which establishes that all "eventual" new vehicles to be purchased by the Authority will only be electric or hybrid powered, in order to reduce pollution and combat climate change by decreasing CO2 emissions.

Both of these actions promote electric mobility, whose potential in terms of reducing air and noise pollution is widely recognized. Therefore, in agreement with the Environment Councilor, Giuseppe Ferrara, the Zinno administration has started this path that goes in the direction of facilitating the purchase and use of alternative fuel cars, especially electric ones, to preserve the urban context, with a progressively positive effect on the environment and with the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions related to road transport, which represent one of the main causes of the harmful effects on our health and on our territory.

“We want to invest in electric mobility and set a good example as an administration,” explains Mayor Giorgio Zinno. “It is clear that the two actions go hand in hand: we must also provide adequate and cutting-edge services to those who decide to use eco-friendly cars. In this way, we promote alternative mobility and reduce pollution to give our children a more sustainable future.”
