Workplace safety, health, and rights. San Giorgio a Cremano hosts the second edition of the 2021 HSE SAFETY CUP football tournament: "SAFETY IS MADE AS A TEAM," organized by the European Prevention Association, in collaboration with Safetyplayers (Italian National Workplace Safety Team) and CONI.
The initiative will take place on Saturday, October 9th, from 2:30 PM to 6:30 PM, at Campo Raffaele Paudice. Its goal is to raise community awareness about safety and workplace issues, starting with sport, a unifying force and a resonant channel for social values and messages. The National Actors for Life team, the Campania Regional Council team, the Italian National Workplace Safety team "Safetyplayers," and the Campania Order of Healthcare and Technical Professions team will compete on the turf. Everyone will take to the field to emphasize how safety, health, and respect for the rules are essential to every civilization and how only through shared action will it be possible to reverse the tragic sequence of accidents we witness daily.
“Our city has always been sensitive to this and other issues concerning human rights – explains Mayor Giorgio Zinno – for this reason, it is first and foremost here that we turn the spotlight on the issue of safety, networking with all the subjects involved in this battle in favor of workers.
This first initiative is part of the HSE Symposium in Naples, the event focusing on the topics of Health, Safety at Work and the Environment, scheduled for October 29 and 30, coinciding with the European Week for Safety and Health at Work 2021, in the Aula Magna "Gaetano Salvatore" of the Federico II University at the Second Polyclinic of Naples.
The Symposium is a national event that brings together 22 Italian universities, bringing together at the same table representatives of the government, the judiciary, the church, Italian universities, the press, local and national institutions, protection and control bodies, up to representatives of workers and their employers.
"For years – underlines Vincenzo Fuccillo President of AEP – we are working to extend to all areas of our society the culture of knowledge on the subject of safety at work and the possible preventive actions that each of us must be able to put into practice to counteract and avoid the occurrence of tragic events”.
“The dozens of accidents at work, some of them fatal, that have occurred in recent weeks – concludes Zinno – They are an open wound, not only for our community, but for the entire country, which has a deeply rooted culture of workers' rights. We all have a duty to act in the face of these intolerable incidents, starting with raising collective awareness and extending discussions among industry professionals.
