The exact dynamics of the events are still to be clarified, but according to the initial reconstruction by the traffic police, the impact was caused by overtaking.
The accident involved three heavy vehicles: two teams of firefighters had to intervene to extract the truck drivers from the wreckage of their vehicles.
Two of the three injured were taken by ambulance to the hospital. The only one in very worrying conditions is a 25-year-old truck driver from Naples, BTA, who was admitted to the hospital in Caserta with a reserved prognosis; CR, 43, from Naples was taken to the hospital in Marcianise for tests, while the most experienced, VA, 62, from Ercolano was treated on site.
Along the artery there was traffic with queues of up to three kilometres, also caused by the complexity of the operation to remove the three trucks.
