Al Trianon Viviani The long-awaited inauguration took place this morning Room of Wonders. To cut the ribbon of this technological space of immersive reality, Vincenzo De Luca, President of the Campania Region, Giovanni Pinto e Marisa Laurito, respectively president and artistic director of the Neapolitan Song Theater.
designed by Bruno Garofalo from an idea by Marisa Laurito, the Room intends to offer the public the possibility of immersing themselves in the rich musical panorama that has developed in the alleys of Naples and the emotions that the great Neapolitan classics can evoke.
Thanks to the use of digital systems, visitors will be able to virtually enter a Naples of other times, being able to relive a multisensory experience through the history of Neapolitan song.
The Room of Wonders includes an “immersive walk” – lasting thirty minutes – in sounds, colors and moving images: the period considered goes from the end of the nineteenth century to 1940, a time span in which the greatest number of musicians and poets engaged in the production of the so-called “classical” song is concentrated. The period documents will be interspersed with contemporary reinterpretations of the chosen music, in philological respect of both the scores and the lyrics.
The walk is divided into several thematic routes. The first is dedicated to the market, which corresponds to the dynamism of the people on the street, for which songs inspired by the vendors were chosen; the second is dedicated to the sea, another peculiar theme of the classic Neapolitan song, in which the visitor can immerse himself between marine scenes and serenades; the third is a landscape route in Campania, from the Amalfi Coast to the hinterland.
Period photos and paintings, and an environmental reconstruction in costume, will allow a journey through time and space in one of the richest contexts in the history of song.
“With the Trianon Viviani, Naples finally has a temple that encloses, protects and spreads our great musical tradition abroad,” comments Marisa Laurito proudly.
The Room of Wonders will be open every day, with free admission until November, upon reservation on the theater website teatrotrianon.org or at the theater box office. In compliance with anti-covid19 regulations, possession of the green pass and the use of a mask are mandatory.
