The Museum Institute of the Ministry of Culture has been awarded a 1 million euro grant to restore the spaces designed and created by the architect to their original purpose. Luigi Vanvitelli to the Palace of Caserta.
Il Court Theater, the jewel of the Vanvitellian Complex, which has always aroused the admiration of visitors and important recognition from experts and professionals, also for the acoustic quality of the rooms that enchanted the Masters of music, will be the subject of a major intervention of functional adaptation for the purposes of public entertainment activities.
The Court Theatre, as intended by Charles of Bourbon and Luigi Vanvitelli, will not only be a stop on the museum tour but above all a space for the expression of the performing arts.
Since last year, the Museum Management has activated the procedures for adapting the premises in accordance with the project approved in derogation by the Fire Brigade Command for the usability and use of the spaces. The project aims to address in its entirety the functional adaptation of the spaces intended for public entertainment according to current regulations.
In addition to the necessary works in terms of statics and vulnerability of the structures, all the necessary procedures relating to the electrical, emergency, fire detection, EVAC, video surveillance, water and fire prevention systems will be completed. All through the use of the latest technologies in terms of integrated and certified systems and by providing for periodic maintenance procedures.
"We are returning to the public the only part of this immense Complex actually completed by Vanvitelli – says the General Manager Tiziana Maffei – We will do this by looking to the future, for activities that will contaminate those typically found in museums. The Court Theatre will be a place of production and enjoyment within a series of collaborations also with national and international training institutions that we are starting with the aim of completing the work in 2023 for the celebrations for the 250th anniversary of Vanvitelli's death. "Vivifying" the historical, artistic and cultural heritage is one of our goals. The Royal Palace of Caserta in this complex journey of reinterpreting its values has a lot to offer its audiences".
