Land of fires. As part of the territorial control activities of the operation “Strade Sicure” of the “Campania” group of the Italian Army based on the “Guide” Cavalry Regiment (19th), 385 patrol services were ensured in the past week and the operational results were: 2 fires, 216 people identified of which 12 reported at large and 2 arrested, 173 vehicles checked of which 2 seized.
In particular, on October 7, 2021, the army intervened on the beginnings of a fire with the subsequent arrival of the firefighters and police forces in the municipality of Giugliano in Campania (Na). Control activities were also carried out on the territory for the illegal dumping of waste, in the localities of Naples and Caserta, where they led to the following results:
On October 4th 21 in Giugliano in Campania (Na) a stolen van was found, on October 8th in the same municipality a car was found;
On October 6, 21, in Caivano (Na) there was an arrest for possession of narcotic substances.
During the most significant operations of last week, the necessary judicial police support was ensured by the following police forces: Municipal Police of Villa Literno (CE), Municipal Police of Castel Volturno (CE), Carabinieri of Villa Literno (CE), Municipal Police of Giugliano in Campania (NA), Carabinieri of Giugliano in Campania (NA).
The activity is part of the "first and second level" actions (i.e. operated 24 hours a day by Army patrols or by mixed patrols with the support of local police or territorial Carabinieri garrisons) which are added to the weekly Action Days, according to the schedule defined by the Person in Charge of combating the phenomenon of fires in the Campania region within the Control Room of the "Land of Fires", always with the coordination of the Prefectures of Naples and Caserta.
