After a long break caused by the health emergency, historic trains return to Campania. The initiative is promoted by ACaMIR (Campania Mobility Infrastructure and Networks Agency) and the FS Foundation with the aim of encouraging the rediscovery of the beauty of the area through railway tourism.
The first appointment is scheduled Sunday, October 17 with the historic Reggia Express train. The convoy, composed of Centoporte and Corbellini type carriages, will depart at 10 hours from Naples Central Station direct in Caserta, with arrival expected at 10.40.
Also this year the Royal Palace of Caserta, a museum institute of the Ministry of Culture and UNESCO Heritage, dedicates a reduced-rate ticket only for travellers of the historic train.
Holders of a return ticket (Naples/Caserta) will be able to take advantage of a discounted ticket, costing 10 euros (plus one euro for online purchases), to visit the Vanvitelli Complex (Royal Apartments, Royal Park and English Garden).
Tickets for access to the Museum will be on sale in the next few days on the TicketOne platform and at the ticket office of the Royal Palace of Caserta. Tickets purchased cannot be changed or refunded.
The Royal Palace of Caserta, attentive to the strategies of promoting sustainable tourism, territorial development and network synergies, wanted to involve in this important initiative also entrepreneurial, cooperative and economic entities. The protagonists of this new appointment of the Reggia Express will in fact also be some excellences of the territory that will be presented at the station and on the carriages.
The return train will leave from Caserta station at 17pm, arriving in Naples at 17.30pm.
Tickets for travelling on the Reggia Express are on sale at ticket offices and self-service machines in the station, at authorised travel agencies and on trenitalia.com. They can also be purchased on board the train, without any additional charge, and subject to seat availability.
On board, interpersonal distance will be guaranteed, allowing you to enjoy the journey and the magnificent views in complete safety. More information on the fondazionefs.it website and on the Fondazione FS fan pages on the main social networks.
