Vaccines. Information desks in obstetrics departments, vaccination hubs and open days dedicated to future mothers, telephone counseling for pregnant women, brochures distributed in the departments and pink points with specialists available: these are the initiatives implemented by the public health companies of Fiaso (Italian Federation of Health and Hospital Companies) to promote vaccination against Covid19 among pregnant women who are still reluctant to get immunized.
“In the last mile of the vaccination campaign, pregnant women are still missing, and it is precisely to respond to their doubts and fears that Fiaso has launched specific initiatives throughout Italy – says president Giovanni Migliore – From Campania to Veneto, from Lazio to Emilia Romagna, in hospitals and clinics, information points and clinics have been set up to offer personalized advice from gynecologists”.
Among the initiatives promoted, it is worth mentioning, for example, the information clinic in the Gynecology and Obstetrics clinic of the Policlinico di Bari, while at the ASL Napoli 2 spaces for discussion with gynecologists and obstetricians have been made available in the clinics of 13 health districts and a decalogue has been published that also raises awareness on the topic of vaccination.
Other public health agencies, such as Asp Palermo, Asst Lodi and the Usl of Reggio Emilia, have organized open days reserved for pregnant women in the vaccination hubs, while Asl Roma 2 has scheduled a day of meetings at the Sant'Eugenio Hospital dedicated to new mothers to clarify all their doubts. Asl Roma 5 instead, on the occasion of the first birth planning visit, proposes vaccination for the mother and also for the father at the Tivoli Birth Point.
