Casal di Principe. Prestigious recognition for Emilio Goglia and Nicola Goglia, owners and pastry chefs of “Emilio Il Pasticciere”, a historic pastry shop in Casal di Principe, in the province of Caserta. Yesterday, Friday 1 October (10 am) at the historic Palazzo della Regione del Veneto in Venice, they were awarded the Leone d'Oro for professional merit.

A wonderful piece of news that made the mayor Renato Natale particularly enthusiastic: “We are used to thinking of this statuette in the hands of actors and actresses, directors and other protagonists of the world of cinema, and instead the same statuette is also given to those who stand out for their entrepreneurial activity – said the mayor – This year it was Emilio's turn, the pastry chef of roccobabà.

We congratulate our fellow citizen, and we thank him because with his art and with this deserved award he honors his city, he honors all of us. Thank you Emilio, thank you Nicola”.

In the presence of the Honorary President and Golden Lion for Peace, Senator Mario Baccini, and the President of the Committee of the Order of the Golden Lion, Dr. Sileno Candelaresi, the Official Knight of the Italian Republic Dr. Maurizio Pollini, the Consul of the Russian Federation in Naples and Campania, Vincenzo Schiavo, the National President of Confesercenti, Emilio and Nicola Goglia, aka “Emilio Il Pasticciere”, were awarded as historical symbols of Italian Pastry.

The important award was collected by his son Nicola, who has been working alongside his father for years in the business that has become a “real family dream”. Last year, in fact, he blew out 40 candles: inaugurated on May 14, 1980, it began as a small sweet shop that bore the name of “Pasticceria Emilio”.

It has come a long way and has produced delights before transforming itself, today, with sacrifice and dedication, into a modern and functional “show room” of sweets, which also goes beyond borders. And reaches abroad. Creating, for example, the desserts for the baptism of Maria Carolina of Bourbon, but above all changing the history of the babà.
