From Saturday 23rd to Sunday 31st October, on the stage of theOFF/OFF Theatre goes on stage Dump, written and directed by the visionary Silvano Spada, with Vladimir Luxuria who returns to the theatrical scene, together with Roberto Alpi, Elena Cross, Blue Yoshimi, Filippo Contri e Andrea Verticchio.
On the edge of an abandoned landfill, on the outskirts of a city, people live and meet, each with their own personal life story. Human beings marginalized in various ways by society, who together rebuild new types of supportive family. The landfill is a metaphor that symbolizes everything that today's society still excludes and rejects.
A manager fired at fifty, due to the restructuring of his company, which has led him to a life against the system; an evicted transsexual who must rebuild her life, a boy who uses drugs, abandoned by the context in which he lives and a girl with psychological problems, partly the result of her family environment, subject to bullying and antisocial behavior. In this group is a young university student who, despite everything, maintains his faith in the future, with his attitude refractory to violence, ready to give his contribution to build a better society.
The text addresses some of the current issues with the greatest social impact: the cynicism of exasperated competitiveness, the excesses of consumerism and the discomforts of diversity and marginalization. In this sort of "refuge", the violence of criminal and racist gangs erupts.
"I wrote this text because I felt the need to address the most contemporary and socially impactful themes in the theatre, driven by the cynicism of an exasperated competitiveness and by my attention to the stories of all the diversities, which OFF/OFF Theatre has always represented.“, declares Silvano Spada, director of the theatre, this time in the role of author and director.
