Naples. The break between the Silenzio and Formicola families, related and linked by the management of illicit activities in the Taverna del Ferro area of San Giovanni a Teduccio, occurred with the murder of Annamaria Palmieri, known as Nino D'Angelo.
This is how an entire family became a clan. The Silenzio group, once a satellite of the powerful and historic Formicola clan of the Bronx and now autonomous in the management of drug trafficking and the request for 'pizzo' in San Giovanni a Teduccio. Among the 25 precautionary measures carried out this morning by the police, there are among others Francesco, Vincenzo, Pacifico and Alfonso Silenzio.
The criminal family was related to the Formicola by kinship, since Assunta Formicola married Francesco Silenzio. But the break between the two clans occurred in January 2018 with the murder of Annamaria Palmieri because she was close to Maria Domizio, believed to be the regent of the Formicola. A murder decided for personal reasons by the Silenzio.

This morning the agents notified precautionary measures issued by the investigating judge of Naples also against the material perpetrators and instigators of that murder.
The investigations reconstruct the current criminal balances in the territory of San Giovanni a Teduccio, characterized by numerous bloody events caused by the feud, ongoing in 2018 despite the arrests and convictions, between various Camorra families representing two larger confederations, the Secondigliano Alliance and the Mazzarella clan, which have always fought for exclusive control of the city of Naples and the Province.
In particular, the activities carried out starting from January 2018, following the murder of Annamaria Palmieri, right-hand man of Domizio Maria, regent of the Formiciìola clan, reconstruct a violent armed conflict between the Silenzio and Formicola Camorra families, both operating within the sphere of influence and control of the dominant Rinaldi/Formicola/Reale cartel, which in turn can be traced back to the Secondigliano Alliance.
Numerous are the violent actions reconstructed in the precautionary order through which the Silenzio clan forced entire family units to abandon their homes, legitimately occupied, in order to guarantee the members and affiliates of the Silenzio family military control of the Bronx district and the management of all illicit activities, in particular extortion and control of drug dealing areas.
This context also includes the reconstruction of the circumstantial evidence relating to the murder of Annamaria Palmieri, which occurred on 23.1.18, which appears to have represented the first sensational criminal act aimed at giving a ferocious demonstration of the criminal plan of the group, as well as the subsequent criminal actions attributable to the violent reaction of the Mazzarella cartel and the criminal dynamics related to the control of the flows of narcotics imported from Spain destined not only for the drug dealing areas of San Giovanni a Teduccio, but also for those of other Neapolitan neighborhoods (Barra, Secondigliano), and other municipalities of Campania.
