Yesterday evening, the Carabinieri of the Sorrento Company together with the Operational Intervention Teams of the Campania Regiment, the specialists of the Carabinieri Labor Inspectorate Unit, the anti-drug and anti-explosive units of the Carabinieri Dog Unit of Sarno and with the air support of the Pontecagnano Helicopter Unit carried out an extraordinary service of territorial control in all the Municipalities of the Coast.
During the large-scale operation, several commercial activities were inspected, 230 people were identified, over 100 vehicles were checked, several dozen traffic violations were issued for a total amount of approximately 3000 euros and several drug users were reported to the administrative authority.
The military, with the collaboration of their colleagues from NIL, found 4 illegal workers, one of whom was a citizen's income recipient. The owner was charged with a series of criminal and administrative violations in labor matters, as well as failure to comply with the regulations for the containment of the Covid-19 infection. At the end of the inspection, the suspension of the business activity was ordered and fines were imposed for a total amount of 30 thousand euros.
The canine units of the Arma, in the central Piazza Sant'Antonino in Sorrento, smelled marijuana on some young people they controlled, who were reported to the Prefect for personal use of narcotic substances. A total of 10 grams of marijuana were seized.
Two Romanian citizens reported at large to the Public Prosecutor's Office of Torre Annunziata for begging with the use of a minor. The Carabinieri caught them begging on the streets of Sorrento with a baby still in swaddling clothes.
