First snow on Vesuvius. The sudden drop in temperatures in Naples and the province has brought the first snowflakes to the Volcano.

Sleet is also falling at sea level in some cities in the province of Naples. The tip of the volcano is white from about a thousand meters up after the snowfall of the night, even if it remains barely visible from the locations of the Gulf of Naples due to the very cloudy day. Snow also in the inland areas, in particular in Montevergine and on the Laceno plateau in the province of Avellino.

For much of the region today is the third consecutive day of orange weather alert: the areas affected are part of Caserta, Naples, the islands, the Vesuvian area, the Sorrento-Amalfi Peninsula, Salerno, Piana del Sele, Alto and Basso Cilento. Many municipalities in which the mayors have decided to close schools, cemeteries and city parks, including Salerno.

In Naples schools are open, only parks remain closed. The weather alert for rain and storms with orange criticality issued by the Civil Protection of the Campania Region, which has extended the previous alerts, is in effect until 18:29 pm today, Monday XNUMX November.
