Dangerous firecrackers at home: the carabinieri arrested a craftsman stoker in the Traiano district. Extremely dangerous devices seized in an apartment on via Tertulliano.
The holidays are approaching and the Carabinieri are already on high alert. The military of the Naples mobile radio unit have arrested a 40-year-old with no criminal record from the Traiano district, already known to the police, for possession of homemade pyrotechnic material.
The Carabinieri stop the man in the Traiano district on via Tertulliano while he is riding his scooter and search him. The 40-year-old is very calm, in his pockets “only” a firecracker. Too bad for him that the firecracker was homemade, not freely available, and very dangerous.
The Carabinieri immediately alert the bomb squad of the provincial command of Naples and go to the man's home. There, 207 more homemade explosives divided into 6 different specialties for a total weight of 8 kilograms are found and seized.
Some firecrackers were sampled while the remaining part was destroyed by the Artificieri unit. The specialists of the Arma highlighted the extreme dangerousness of the pyrotechnic material that during the seizure phases also lost gunpowder demonstrating the instability of the goods. The arrested person is awaiting trial.
