While waiting for the screening, Bulgarian filmmaker Yana Titova previews: “This is the story of Vesela, who falls into the vicious circle of heroin addiction. While this destructive love takes over her life, she takes care of her daughter who grows up surrounded by drugs.
She fights her inner battle for eight years and manages to break the chains of addiction and start a normal life. This film is part of our social cause to raise awareness about the invisible and neglected problem of drug addiction in Bulgaria: one in two families falls victim to it.
We want to inform children and parents about the consequences of drugs through a film that leaves a trace and gives hope. That's why the distribution campaign includes meetings with parents and kids and screenings in schools. It's an honest, brave and direct film.
It tells not only the life of an addicted mother but also several problems that afflict our society. The same ones that affect our children, who do not know how to find a way out of the dark place they have found themselves in.
This movie is also about parents who should not give up on their children no matter what happens, no matter how difficult the times they are facing. They should remember that there is a little heart that beats and feels fear, pain and needs help.".
