"It is a beautiful space, which will become a point of reference for the entire territory". This is how the mayor of Naples, Gaetano Manfredi, commented on the opening of the new Asterix Center, the youth center located in the San Giovanni a Teduccio neighborhood (via Atripaldi, 52), managed by the associations Callysto Arts and La Coccinella.
After the renovation works, the result of a project proposal within the framework of the Giovani per i Beni Pubblici call, which were implemented through funding from the PAC – Action and Cohesion Plan and with a further effort of self-financing by the private social sector, a multifunctional cultural infrastructure was born in San Giovanni a Teduccio, particularly significant also for the profiles of social prevention. The works cost a total of 280 thousand euros, 30% with public funds and the rest made available by private individuals and involved the redevelopment of both the internal and external spaces
"With the Asterix Center, we are creating a link between the territory and Europe, giving young people an opportunity through the many initiatives that will be implemented. It is a virtuous example that we strongly support," continued Manfredi.
In addition to the mayor of Naples, the councilor for youth policies Chiara Marciani spoke. Numerous representatives from the world of institutions were also present, both from the Municipality and from the City and the Region. "This is an important garrison, a place full of activities and content," explained councilor Marciani.
"Today we are giving back to the community one of the largest youth centers in the city, in one of the most complex and difficult neighborhoods but also the most beautiful. After two years of work, we are starting a journey through four key words: young people, creativity, innovation, culture", commented the president of the Callysto association, Francesco Micera, who oversaw the inauguration ceremony.
