These are poems inspired by the Roman cinerary urns of Salerno and the Amalfi Coast that Giovanni bracco has brought together in the volume “Urns. Poems”, published by La Vita Felice and printed by Arti grafiche Boccia for its 60 years of activity (98 pages, 14,00 euros).
"In the same field of Roman cinerary urns from the Amalfi coast and Salerno, already studied by Father Vittorio for the historical and archaeological aspects – writes Mario Mello, professor emeritus of Roman History at the University of Salerno, in his preface – Giovanni Bracco, with the sensitivity of the poet, tries his hand at human aspects: he aims to interpret feelings, to show solidarity in the pain that death generates".
The texts are complemented by photographs of the sculptural representations, curated by director Graziano Conversano, a signature of Rai Cultura. Among the prefacers is also Enzo Boccia, former president of Confindustria.
Giovanni Bracco, journalist, head of the Rome editorial office of Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor, is at his sixth poetic work. Among his most recent publications, “Nocturnes”, with poems in Italian and English (Cyberwit.net publisher – India). His poems have appeared in Nuovi Argomenti and Poeti e poesia and, translated into English and Spanish, in several international magazines.
