There are reportedly conflicts related to an inheritance behind the family massacre committed this morning by Angelo Tardino, 48, from Licata. The man had gone early in the morning to the Safarello district, where his brother's country house is located. In the same area, there is land left to him by his father, all cultivated with early produce.
According to the reconstruction of the incident, a violent argument broke out between the two brothers, yet another, over the division of cultivated land. During the argument, Angelo Tardino allegedly pulled out a gun and fired at his brother, his sister-in-law, and their two nephews, aged 15 and 11.
The man then got into his car and fled. Carabinieri from the Licata Company arrived on the scene, reconstructed the incident, and contacted Tardino by phone, who had meanwhile gone to the city center. The officers allegedly tried for a long time to convince him to turn himself in, but during the conversation, the killer allegedly turned the gun used in the massacre on himself and fired, killing himself.
Brothers Diego and Angelo Tardino ran a farm together, and before this morning's massacre, according to Adnkronos, the Carabinieri had been called in several times to break up arguments between the two.
