The Surveillance Court of Naples has ordered the deferral of the sentence - from prison to house arrest - against Carmine Montescuro, the 88-year-old boss known as "Uncle Minuzzo".
He was considered one of the doldest prisoners in Italy, arrested together with 22 other people on 24 October 2019, as part of a blitz by the Flying Squad coordinated by the DDA in the Sant'Erasmo area, in the area of Port of Naples.
Considered by investigators "fine mediator" of the conflicts that have arisen in the last twenty years between the various Neapolitan clans, Carmine Montescuro (defended by the lawyers Enrico Di Finizio and Massimo Vetrano) is, among other things, diabetic and suffers from serious hearing and vision problems.
