Sexual violence in the province of Ravenna against two students under the age of 15 and 17, janitor arrested
A 35-year-old janitor at a high school in the province of Ravenna was arrested on charges of continued and aggravated sexual violence against two female students aged 15 and 17.
The man – as reported by the two local newspapers – has been under house arrest since last Thursday in execution of a precautionary custody order issued by the investigating judge Andrea Galanti at the request of the prosecutor Angela Scorza due to the risk of repeating the crime.
Today for the 35-year-old, defended by the lawyer Giorgia Toschi, it will be the turn of the preliminary hearing. The police have reconstructed several episodes of harassment.
Among them, one girl was allegedly forcefully grabbed by the wrists and dragged in vain towards a room while the other was followed to the changing rooms.
The investigations by the Ravenna Flying Squad were triggered by a specific report that arrived on December 10th in the email inbox of the Public Prosecutor's Office from the school principal who had in turn been notified by four teachers to whom not only the two girls but also several of their classmates had turned to complain about the behavior of that janitor.
The man, who had been hired on a fixed-term contract, had also accumulated several warnings in just a few months due to his professional performance.
In particular, he allegedly refused to clean the classrooms several times and on one occasion he was even caught sleeping on the gym benches, so much so that disciplinary proceedings were opened against him.
