Pescara: 'Dissatisfied' Customer Tries to Kill Young Waiter. THE VIDEO

Pescara. A 23-year-old foreign university student was injured by a customer at the bar where he works as a bartender in Piazza della Rinascita, Pescara. The young man was shot several times by a man who was having lunch there. The owner of the business, located in the city center, reported that the man complained about the wait for service, first punched the man, and then shot him. The young man was transported by 118 ambulance to Santo Spirito Hospital, where another employee of the bar is also being treated and attempted to calm the attacker. The boy is in serious condition. He was shot three times in the back, has a wound to the neck, and another to the chest, according to what was confirmed by 3 emergency responders.

The video, taken from the premises' surveillance system, was spread on social media. The video recorded the moment the young man, on the ground behind the counter, sought shelter, and the attacker, after having lunch under the arcades of the establishment, shot him in the back and fled. The restaurant manager said the man, not a regular customer, had complained about the wait for table service, and that he first punched the employee, a university student, before shooting him. "He entered the restaurant with his glass of wine and began cursing my employee, complaining, from what we understand, about the wait times. He first punched him, then pulled out his gun and shot him. What you see in the surveillance footage is shocking," said the restaurant owner. The attacker, according to information provided by the business owner, was having lunch outside the restaurant; he wasn't a regular customer, but apparently had also been in the business on Friday evening. "I just hope the boy recovers," he adds. "We have no updates from the hospital at the moment. Another employee is there, too, who tried to calm the attacker down. He's fine, but he's in shock."

Investigators are trying to identify the man who ran away after injuring the 23-year-old.
