The Tatar Democratic Union and the Balint Claudia Crina Mediation Office promoted and organized the 1st International Conference in Romania to celebrate the “UNESCO World Day for Dialogue and Development of Cultural Diversity”.
The Conference, held on May 21st, closed the second edition of the project “United in Diversity – No Discrimination”, with the Partnership of the Municipality of Bucharest through the Educational Projects Center PROEDUS and ARCUB.
An important moment was the realization of the Multicultural Exhibition with the participation of the Jean Monnet Theoretical High School, Petre Ispirescu Gymnasium, Ion Neculce National College, Uruguay Gymnasium, GH Lazar National College, CA Rosetti Theoretical High School, Fashion Club within the George Cosbuc National Bilingual College.
Exhibition enriched by the promotional stands of ISACCL and IRDO and above all by the presence of the works of the Nigerian artist Kingslay C. Nwabia obtained thanks to the participation of the Nigerian Embassy in Romania. An important contribution to the Exhibition was given by the paintings of the Ladies Iuliana Buica and Soraya Filippelli and by the Historical Reconstruction Group NOKORS with works composed of Tartar yurts.
The Conference opened with the Romanian national anthem performed by mezzo-soprano Lavinia Bocu and with a special message from the Municipality of Bucharest brought by Mrs. Catalina Budulus. It had the precious contribution of 10 diplomatic missions with special messages from the Hungarian Embassy with counselor Soltèsz Levente, with Mr. Andor Barabàs from FUEN, from Mrs. Cristina Tunegaru from the Ministry of Education of Romania who appreciated and praised the initiative, and from the IRDOD with Director Adrian Bulgaru, partner of the project “United in Diversity” and the message of Mrs. Daniela Allupi from CCJB.
La Conference It closed with the presentation of the book “Diritti delle minorita Nazionale” by Istvan Haller, Janòsi Dalma and the President of UDT Naim Belgin. The Conference aroused great interest and represented another important step for the development of dialogue against all discrimination and for the recognition of cultural diversity as a positive value for coexistence and peace in the world.
