On May 7th and 8th, Mangalia hosted the 7th edition of the Hidirlez International Festival, organized by theTatar Democratic Union with the support of the Ministry of Culture of Romania.
The numerous participants were able to try traditional sports activities (kores, tug of war, Historical Archery and others) and enjoy the tasting of typical food with the flavours of Tatar cuisine. The intercultural exhibition, traditional music concerts, film screenings, medieval costumes and weapons created sociality among the participants also thanks to the “Dobrogena Magazine” entirely dedicated to the contents of the Festival.
The opening of the event had the message of Councilor Soltesz. The event, represented by the Hungarian Embassy in Romania, which shared the values of the Tatar Etna and the model of coexistence and harmony between the Tatar, Hungarian and Romanian ethnic groups. It is worth highlighting the presence in Mangalia of refugees from theUkraine, from Turkistan, From Moldova, From Turkey and Bulgaria.
It can be said that the objectives of this 7th Edition of Hidirlez, organized by the UDT with the President Naim Belgian, have been achieved. The proposed interactive activities have conveyed the promotion of intercultural dialogue, the richness of mutual knowledge and interethnic coexistence.
